These are a few pics I've been taking for the past couple of weeks, and they're just too cute not to post...

WAHM, SAHM, Thank You Ma'am

2010-05-02 21:42

My postings have been limited the past 2 weeks, mostly due to my new career as a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom for those of you not in the know). This was an unexpected decision, but due to circumstances beyond my control, it became a necessary one.  I spent the first week in a fog for the most part.  I've worked continuously since we've been married, only taking time off to have babies, so this is the first experience I've had staying home with one of them when they can actually walk and talk (if you consider 5 known words "talking"). By the end of the first week, I realized I'm not cut out for it.  The days flew by, and by the end of each day, I hadn't accomplished one thing on my "to do" list, which was actually a lot like work.

Then the second week came, and the fog started to lift.  I slowed down and really started to enjoy the whole SAHM gig.  I get to spend every day with Sophie, taking her for walks, swinging her, and watching Yo Gabba Gabba marathons. For the record, DJ Lance rocks! At 3, I pick Trevor and Victoria up.  Trevor comes home and practices his guitar and does his homework.  I'm able to do the laundry and have dinner made when Wesley arrives.  I feel so Donna Reed.  I'm getting used to this new lifestyle and would even venture to say I'm enjoying it and not so sure I'm eager to return to the rat race so quickly.  I do have some possibilities that may allow me to return in the near future, so for now, I will enjoy this momentary pause from reality and soak up every ounce of my kids that I can.

She's dancing to Airborne Toxic Event's "Gasoline". Glad to know she has good taste.

*** I tweeted this video to Airborne Toxic Event, and I actually received a response.  Very cool!

      My Baby is Famous...Sort of

Remember the daycare incident? Well, the folks at Passive Aggressive Notes thought Ms. Linda's note was just passive aggressive enough to make the cut.

What If We Stopped With One?

      2010-04-12 21:39

I got the answer to that question on Saturday when Trevor and I spent the day together by ourselves (which I'm just now writing about due to my Internet being down for 2 days...grrr!) We went to the movies, Rita's, Gamestop, and Target.  I didn't have to make a million stops at every bathroom in each store, didn't have to change poopy diapers on those less than sanitary changing stations, or deal with anyone's meltdowns.  We had a very peaceful, serene day in which we received each other's undivided attention.  I thought for a moment that that's what it would be like to only have one child- quiet and peaceful.  It would be an easier life, sure- cheaper by a mile.  But, there would be so much missing from my life...our lives. I adore my son, but I feel incredibly lucky to have the experience of rasing both a son and daughters, because after spending a day doing boy things, I got to come home to these beautiful girls.

My Whole Life Is Have To

      2010-04-09 20:05

One of the greatest lines in a movie ever.  I finally understand what it means.  I can relate my entire life to Parenthood.  Trevor is Kevin, the kid with OCD; Victoria is Julie, the rebellious headstrong daughter who gets married at 16, and Sophie is Justin, the kid with the bucket on his head. "How proud you must be." And indeed, we are.

      Easter Weekend

      2010-04-04 23:00

In order to avoid an aneurysm from typing about my weekend for the THIRD time in a row, I'm just going to summarize- we went to the beach, had to come back early, and celebrated Easter at home.  My computer keeps freezing, so here are some pics before it happens again.

There's a new bitch in the house

      2010-04-04 21:08

The estrogen in the household increased a little more this weekend when I brought home Bella.  She's a two month old half chihuahua, half terrier. I've been assured she won't get any bigger than 20 pounds, so hopefully that's the case.  So far, she's calmer than most puppies and very good natured.  The kids love her already, even the baby.  She's spent every evening sleeping in Welsey's arms, so it seems she's a good fit for the entire family.  Everyone that is except Phoebe.

      That's It! Easter is Canceled!

      2010-03-30 20:53

Today Wesley and I spent our lunch hour shopping at Target for the kids' Easter baskets.  I thoughtfully picked out just the right candy, cute plastic eggs, and metal pails with their favorite characters.  Of course Wesley helped, if you call grumbling, sighing, and tapping your foot helping.  Anyway, I took the candy inside work to make sure it didn't melt in the car, and I put all the bags on the floor of the backseat, and I picked up the kids.  I always leave Trevor and Victoria in the backseat when I get the baby, and nothing eventful usually happens...usually.  Well, after being gone for approximately 5 minutes to get Sophie, I come back to a car strewn with Target bags, candy, and gifts.  Trevor had a chocolate mouth, and Victoria was holding the Hello Kitty stuffed animal I'd gotten for Sophie.  She'd already seen the Alvin and the Chipmunks dvd we'd gotten her as well.  Since she saw her gift, Wesley went ahead and gave Trevor the Phnneaus and Ferb game we got him. So, here we are a few days before Easter, and the surprise is already ruined.  We are going to the beach, though, so the holiday can still be salvaged.  By the way, it was Victoria who dug into the bags.  Shocker.
